Drywall Repair Services

Eight repair services, one trade. We do not remodel, we do not add on — we repair drywall.

One trade, done properly

Every service on this page is a drywall repair service. There is no framing, no painting, no remodeling, no gutters. The list is short on purpose.

What that focus buys you is judgment. The hardest part of drywall repair is not technique, it is knowing which repair a given piece of damage actually wants — whether that hole needs backing or a cut-in piece, whether that stain needs primer or a cut-out, whether that crack is cosmetic seasonal movement or a sign of something a foundation company should look at. That judgment comes from doing nothing else.

How the services relate to each other

Most jobs touch more than one of these. A water-damaged ceiling is ceiling repair and water damage repair and probably sheetrock replacement, finished with a texture match. A doorknob punch is hole repair and a texture match. Texture matching in particular is not really a standalone service so much as the final step of nearly every repair we do, which is why it has its own page — it is the step that decides whether anyone can find your repair afterward.

Repair or replace?

The question that decides most quotes, and the one where the incentive runs against you, so it is worth knowing how we answer it.

A single hole in otherwise sound board gets patched, however large it looks. So does localized damage in the middle of a big sheet. A crack gets taped — the board either side of it is fine, so replacing it would be replacing healthy material.

Replacement earns its cost when damage is spread rather than concentrated: several repairs on one sheet that would each need their own texture match, board that has gone soft or chalky, or material that was wrong for its location from the day it went in. At that point one clean replacement and one continuous match is genuinely cheaper than chasing four patches.

If someone quoted you a full sheet for one doorknob punch, get a second opinion.

What we do not do

We do not paint. We repair and texture; the painting is yours or your painter’s. We do not remodel, frame, or add on. We do not do foundation work, plumbing, roofing, or mold remediation.

When your repair needs one of those first — a live leak above the damage, significant growth in the cavity, movement a foundation company should look at — we will tell you and wait. Hanging new board into a live leak means you pay for the same repair twice, and a repair that fails is worse for us than a job we never took.

Which service do you actually need?

Most people call knowing what happened rather than what it is called, which is fine — describe it and we will work it out. But if you want to read ahead:

  • Something went through the wall — a doorknob, a TV mount, a chair. That is hole repair, and the repair ends up bigger than the hole because the crushed paper around it has to come out.
  • A line in the wall or ceiling — usually diagonal from a door corner or straight along a ceiling seam. That is crack repair, and it wants tape rather than filling.
  • A brown ring or a soft patch — water. What matters first is whether the source is dead, and whether the board still feels firm.
  • A repair someone already did that you can still see — usually a texture match problem rather than a drywall problem.
  • A ceiling you have stopped liking — popcorn removal, if the era of the house allows it without testing first.

If none of those fit, call and describe it. We have almost certainly seen it.

What every job includes

A straight answer on scope before anyone drives out, including the times the honest answer is the cheaper one. A price before the work starts. Floors and furniture protected, because joint compound dust behaves more like smoke than sawdust and travels further than anyone expects. Texture matched to what is actually on your wall rather than to a standard. And a clean, usable room when we leave.

Services

Every drywall repair service we offer

What it costs, before you call

We would rather you know this now than find out on the phone.

Free

Virtual estimate

Text or email a photo of the damage and we will come back with a real number. No charge, no obligation, and for most repairs it is genuinely all we need — a clear photo of a hole or a ceiling stain tells us most of what a visit would.

$100

In-person estimate

Credited back against your job when you book with us. If the damage needs eyes on it — widespread cracking, a texture that has to be read in person, water damage where the source is unclear — we will come out and look properly.

Why the in-person one is not free

Because it is not free for us. It is a drive, and it is an hour of a working tradesman's day. Companies that advertise free estimates are not absorbing that cost — they are building it into everyone's price, which means the customers who book are paying for the ones who never do.

We would rather charge the people who need a visit and keep the price honest for everyone else. And if you book, it comes back to you, so the only people who end up paying it are the ones who were never going to hire us.

Minimum job: $300

Our pricing starts at $300 for any job, however small. That is the honest floor.

The reason is that a drywall repair is never just the patch. It is the drive, the floor protection, the cut, the backing, and then two or three coats of compound that each have to dry before the next one goes on — which is why even a doorknob hole is often two visits. A $75 patch does not exist. Anyone quoting you one is either not coming back to finish it or is making it up elsewhere.

If you have one small hole, the honest advice is to wait until you have a list. Multiple repairs in one visit cost barely more than one, because the coats all dry in parallel. That is not a sales line — it is the cheapest way to use us and almost nobody thinks of it.

How It Works

Three steps, no runaround

1

Call and describe the damage

Tell us what happened and roughly how big the area is. A photo texted over usually settles the scope in a minute.

2

We confirm the repair and the price

You get the scope and the number before we start. Patch versus sheet replacement, texture type, and how many coats it needs.

3

Repaired, textured, and cleaned up

We cut, hang, tape, float, and match texture, then clean the space. Most single-room repairs are done inside one visit.
